Nigerian government has announced that it is about to begin the swap of Boko Haram prisoners for Chibok Girls. The news of the swap is coming two weeks after the government confirmed it is in negotiation with Boko Haram
According to a statement released by the government, various security agencies including the federal prisons service, the Nigeria police and military will be involved in the process.
It would be recalled that Boko Haram recently released a video calling for the release of their members as a condition for freeing remaining Chibok Girls in their capitivity.
The group also alledged that Nigeria’s military killed some of the girls in an airstrike, an allegation the military denied vehemently
