FCBEscola, Barcelona’s Football Academy Begins Admission

FCBEscola, a football academy owned and operated by FC Barcelona Football Club of Spain has finally opens shop in Nigeria.

The academy has started a media campaign to recruit youngsters into the academy. The campaign will run for the next few weeks to admit interested young footballers into the academy.

The academy will be having it trials at the Teslim balogun Stadium in Lagos. However, the academy did not state whether there will be financial conditions required by prospective intakes into the academy. The academy is targeting boys and girls between age 6 and 18.

On the administrative side of things, FCBEscola said “The technical management of International Schools is entrusted to a coach from FC Barcelona, who oversees a sports programme established by the FC Barcelona Sports Department.”

It is founded on the Barcelona methodology of creative and attacking brand of football. FCBEscola also stated that it promotes values and virtues required to build successful footballers such as-respect, effort, ambition, teamwork and modesty

FCBEscola is one of the most successful football academies in the world because it has produced the five times FIFA World Best Player, Lionnel Messi and many others.

It is still unclear if the Nigerian school is a partnership and or a franchise operated by a Nigerian.
