Latest data released by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC shows that Nigeria’s active mobile Internet users marginally shrank by 0.07% to 92,1 million.
The active mobile Internet users for the month of May was 92,2 million. Comparing carriers in the category, MTN still leads the pack with 32,9 million subscribers. However, on a month on month basis, MTN’s mobile Internet subscribers has dropped by 0.40% as its May subscribers was 33,1 million.
Glo firmed up its position as the second largest mobile Internet provider in the category as its Internet subscribers rose by 1.0% to 26,6 million compared to its May milestone of 26,3 million. The company’s aggressive data prices are paying off.
Airtel is the second gainer as its milestone rose by 0.2% to 17,3 million versus 17,2 million Internet users for the month of May. Etisalat’s subscriber base rose by 1.6% to 15,2 million versus 15,5 million for the month of May.
