ISIS Choose New Leader For Boko Haram

Nigeria’s military and security agencies now have to up their game. The Islamic State said it has chosen a new leader for Boko Haram.

According BBC reports, ISIS referred to Abu Musab al-Barnawi, who was previously spokesman for Boko Haram, as the new leader replacing Abubakar Shekau.

Mr. al-Barnawi is featured in the latest issue of an ISIS magazine, the BBC has reported. The magazine makes no reference to Mr. Shekau.

Sources in Nigeria military confirmed that Shekau and his later impersonators have been neutralised. It is not clear if ISIS is using the appointment as a face-saving propaganda that it exist in Nigeria.

In recent months, Nigeria’s military has clampdown on Boko Haram in Nigeria’s North Eastern region.
