Canva Now Has An IPhone App

Canva, the do it yourself cloud designing platform has just released its iPhone App to the Appstore.

In a message released by Melanie on behalf of the Canva team, she said: “Exciting news here at Canva. We’ve just launched Canva for iPhone, and as you’ve used Canva on the Web, I wanted to make sure you were one of the first people to know about it!”

“We’d love to see you get creative. Share your designs with us on social media with #canvaiphone.” she added

According to its profile on Wikipedia.com, the company raised a $3 million seed round from top Australian and U.S. investors including Matrix Partners, InterWest Partners, Bill Tai, Lars Rassmusen, Ken Goldman (CFO of Yahoo!) and 500 Startups.

In August 2013, Canva launched its Beta product: a simple drag-and-drop design tool with a library of more than 1 million photographs, graphics and fonts to choose from. Canva tools are for use by non-designers as well as professionals, and for both web and print media design and graphics. The site currently boast of more than 750,000 users in its first year.

In April 2014, former Apple executive Guy Kawasaki joined the company as the chief evangelist. “Macintosh democratized computers; Google democratized information; and eBay democratized commerce. In the same way, Canva democratizes design,” Kawasaki said in regards to his decision. A few months later the company received a 3.6 million dollar funding round from return investors and new investors: Founders Fund and Shasta Ventures.

The company opened an office in Manila that August, bringing on board a customer happiness, design and marketing team. In April 2015, Canva raised an additional 6 million dollars in funding.

In October 2015, Canva raised $15 million Series A at a valuation of $165 million from existing and new investors, including Hollywood actors Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson.
