
This is a negative story for the Nigerian entertainment and film industry. Silverbird Group, Nigeria’s largest entertainment group with interests in radio stations, TV channels, real estate, events management and cinema halls has been taken over by the Asset Management Company of Nigeria.
The company is a family enterprise run by Ben Murray Bruce and his siblings. Ben Murray Bruce, an entertainment investor who once served as the director general of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
According to AMCON, Silverbird Group is indebted to the tune of NGN11 billion.
AMCON has not officially released a statement on the development.
