PageOne Markets Update: All Share Index Continues In Red To Begin The Week

Analyst view:
Activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) which appreciated only once last week continued in red as the market continues to drop sharply.

Market capitalisation continued with a drop of N9.317 trillion declined by N44.3 billion or 0.47 per cent compared to N9.361 trillion on Friday.

Also, the All-Share Index lost by 129.4 points or 0.47 per cent to close at 27,103.38, against 27,232.62 on Friday.

Top gainer

Unilever lead the gainers’ table with a gain of  N1.02  to close at N33.02 per share. Forte Oil also gained 99k to close at  N197.99. Guinness increased by 35k to close at N98 per share.  Access Bank gained 23k to close at N33.02 and Champion Breweries grew by 16k to close at N2.87 per share.

Top Losers

Nestle led the Losers table with a loss of N22.98 to close at N757.00 per share. Wapco decline by N3.51 to close at N76.50 per share. Dangote Cement also made a loss of N1.20 to close at N163.80. International Breweries made a loss 487k to close at N19.50 while Oando made a lose of 35k to close at N6.65  per share.

Most active

FBNH led in terms  of volume of shares traded, accounting for 40.4m shares valued at N 151.08, Access Bank trailed with an exchange of 19.13m valued at N30.59m.

Most Traded

FBNH lead the most traded chart  in terms of value trade, accounting for 40.04m share value at N151.08m but dropped  by 0.02% to close at N3.77  Zenith Bank trailed with an exchange of 11.04m valued at N165.69m and remained steady in price to close at N19.01.

Top turnover

Nestle has the highest turnover valued at N 1.248billion declined  by 22.98%  to close at N757. Zenith Bank with N165.69m remained steady in price  to close at N15.00. FBNH  also made a turnover valued at N151.08m but dropped by 0.02% to close at N3.77. Guinness closed with N107.17m and also increased in price by 0.35% to close at N98.

A total of 152.32million shares worth N2,290 billion were traded by investors in 3,406 deals, compared to 190.65 million exchanged hands in 3,156 deals on Friday .
