BaseMarket.com.ng, an eCommerce site that will be selling livestocks such as cows, chicken, goats, pigs will be launching soon.
PageOne’s correspondent exclusively spoke to Emmanuel Jaitto-Jeffrey, CEO/Founder of BaseMarket.com.ng who confirmed the development. The site is live and everything is been tested in the backend to ensure the final launch is hitch-free.
Explaining the core strategy of BaseMarket, Emmanuel said “What we do is provide convenience with a guarantee of healthy livestock for all occasions”
As opposed to other similar startups going for contract delivery providers, BaseMarket will be fulfilling its orders as an end-to-end service. It will be interesting to see how the team will design and execute their proprietary logistics to overcome major challenges faced by established eCommerce players such as Konga and Jumia
As analysts in the Nigerian eCommerce ecosystem predicted a move towards specialisation by new entrants, it is becoming clear that such outlook is spot-on. BaseMarket will be joining other startups that are already looking at choosing an area where they can compete in effectively.
Emmanuel is a seasoned marketing and communication practitioner, his knowledge of marketing is expected ,to come into play in the day to day running of BaseMarket. An edge for BaseMarket is its non-exposure to Forex transactions. Because nearly 100% of its inventory will be locally produced, price stability might be an added advantage.
Have you launched? If so how does one get in touch with you?
