Ese Brume lands in Rio 2016 Olympics

Ese Brume has joined the list of Nigeria’s representatives at at the Olympics.

The 2014 Commonwealth gold medalist qualified for the forth Rio Olympics following an impressive  outing at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN Golden League held inside the Sports Complex of the Federal University of Technology in Akure on Monday.

Brume qualified for the long jump event  with the time of 6. 83m with the IAAF qualifying mark for Olympics being 6.7m. This feat marks her career best, and she also becomes the first African woman to qualify for the coming Olympics games.

In some other results; in women 100m final B, Udo-Gabriel Joy of MOC club won in 11.87sec, with Adiakerehna Blessing of Delta coming second with 11. 89 sec. Ogunduran Blessing from Lagos State came third with 11. 98 sec.

In the 100m Final for men, Oduduru Divine won with 10.29sec,  while Egwero Ogho-Oghene finished with 10. 34 sec.
