PageOne Markets Update: Investors Rally Equities Market To A Bigger And Bullish Wednesday

Today was another trading of bullish sentiments on The Exchange. Investors are taking bigger bets on the new monetary policy. Here is PageOne Markets Update for today for Wednesday 25th of May, 2016.

Analyst view:
Activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) enter the third day of the week with another positive index as its responded positively to the MPC decisions

Reports shows  that the market capitalisation which grew yesterday  trend at N9.352 trillion on Tuesday increased  by N361.89 billion or 3.87 per cent to close at N9.714 trillion.

Also, the All-Share Index appreciated by 1029.11 points or 3.78 per cent to close at 28,260.61 points ,against 27,231.50 on Tuesday.

Top gainers

Gainers for equities  as not being retain since the week as started  as UBA took turn to led the gainers’ table with a gain of 45k to close at N4.87 per share. Oando also gained 61k to close at  6.63, Zenith Bank increased by 1.51k to close at N16.51 per share. Diamond Bank gained 19k to close at N2.11 and FCMB grew by 14k to close at N1.56 per share.

Top Losers

Losers for equities  as not also  being retained since the week, as reports shows that Mobil  led the Losers  table with a loss of N8.75 to close at N166.25 per share. Union Dicon also may a loss of 59 k to close at N11.31 , GlaxoSmith decline by N1.05 to close at N20.49 per share. Ikeja Hotel also made a loss 9k to close at 1.92k while Fortis Oil made a lose of N6.26 to close at N206.21 per share.

Most active

FBNH bank continue to led the most active sector  for the second day running in term of volume of shares trade, accounting for 73.88m share value at N 294.17, Zenithbank trailed with an exchange of 48.23m valued at N790.43m.

Most Traded

Zenith bank lead the most traded chart  in term of value trade, accounting for 48.23m share value at N 790.43m but increase by 1.51% to close at N16.51 FBNH trailed for the second day  running  with an exchange of 73.88m valued at N294.17m and also increase by 0.20% in price to close at N3.99.

Top turnovers

Guaranty had the highest turnover of valued at N 960.72m and increase by 0.77%  to close at N20.97 also was Zenith Bank with N790.434m to close at N16.51, FBNH also made a turnover of valued N294.17m and increase by  0.20%  to close at N3.99 while Dangote Cement  closed with N233.47m and also increase 6.99% in price to close at N177.

In all, a total of 474.40 million shares worth N3.503 billion were traded by investors in 5,260 deals, in compared with 274.21 million shares valued at N1.539 billion which exchanged hands in 4,160 deals on Tuesday.
