
After the announcement of his appointment as the acting CEO of Fidelity Bank PLC, very little detail is known about Mohammed.
In a statement released by Fidelity to the NSE:
Mohammed holds a Bachelor degree in Accountancy and Finance from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, England. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Lagos.
Mohammed became a dealing member on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1992. he was an executive director of the defunct Oceanic Bank PLC. He was also a one time general manager in United Ban for Africa PLC.
According to the statement, Mohammed’s banking experience spans over 25 years in retail, corporate and commercial side of things. He joined the board of Fideluty Bank PLC in 2012.
The bank said he was responsible for Commercial, SME, public sector and retail banking in the North Directorate with the FCT, North Central, North East and North West region.
His appointment will be subjected to regulatory approval. Nnamdi Okonkwo, the embattled former CEO is still in the custody of the EFCC.
Yesterday, the agency was reported to have stormed the bank’s headquarters to for search and compliance monitoring.
