This iPhone Costs FBI USD 1.3 Million To Crack

iPhone 5c retails at less than USD 150. But Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI paid a whopping USD 1.3 million to professional hackers to crack its security features.

A statement attributed to James Comey, Director FBI, reveals the FBI paid an amount exceeding what he will make in the next seven years and four months as director of the FBI.

“A lot. More than I will make in the remainder of this job, which is seven years and four months for sure.” Comey said.

He however, opines: “But it was, in my view, worth it.”

Comey’s annual salary is reportedly at USD 183,300, and without raises or bonuses, will result in earnings of USD 1.34 million.

iPhone 5c was the phone allegedly used by Syed Farook, San Bernardino shooter.
