The battle for genius is constantly pushing up salaries. Technology and Consulting companies in the U.S. are topping the list.

Young professionals, especially those with in-demand skills and advanced education are usually in high demand in companies that pay handsomely. Yes, times are hard and paychecks pay the bills.

24 of the 25 spots on the list of highest paying jobs in America are Tech and Consulting firms, according to a recent report from career website Glassdoor Inc.

A statement credited to Andrew Chamberlain, chief economist at Glassdoor, reveals: “This report reinforces that high pay continues to be tied to in-demand skills and higher education.”

Another report also shows that even companies that are struggling in the stock market continue to pay well. Companies such as Box Inc., Twitter Inc., and LinkedIn Corp. pay their employees quite well regardless of stock slumps.

Here are the list and the amount:

However, Uber Technologies Inc., Airbnb Inc., and Pinterest Inc. did not make Glassdoor’s top 25 this year.

While searching for jobs, many take consider everything from salaries to career prospects. To some, it’s not all about fat paycheck.

Recently, Facebook Inc., LinkedIn, Boston Consulting Group Inc., and Alphabet Inc. were all ranked highly on Glassdoor’s list of best places to work, according to a Bloomberg report.

One LinkedIn employee wrote this on Glassdoor’s website.“Even if I was offered 150 percent of salary somewhere else, I would turn it down. At LinkedIn I have had the unique opportunity to work with people that are incredibly smart, hard working, and know how to have fun while getting their work done!”

Only companies which have a minimum of 50 salary submissions from employees between March 2015 and March 2016 could make it on the above list.

Fat salary may not be all that matters in a talented career. According to Steve Jobs, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
