Doris Roberts, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Star Dies At 90

Doris Roberts, star act of meddling Marie Barone of sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond,” has died on Sunday, 17 April, 2016 in Los Angeles, aged 90.

Family spokeswoman Janet Daily yesterday, 18 April 2016 announced her demise saying she died overnight in her sleep

Her screen son, Raymond told Entertainment Tonight on a tribute to her saying: “She had a spirit that amazed me”.

He continued saying: “Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.”

Born on 4 November 1925 in St. Louis, Doris Roberts grew up in New York.

Roberts won five Emmys in her career, four of which were for the television series Everybody Loves Raymond which ran from 1996 – 2005.
