Broner Calls for a Fight with Retired Mayweather

After he was announced winner of the bout with Ashley Theophane on Friday night, in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card, Adrien Broner made it clear that he would like to challenge retired undefeated Floyd Mayweather in a fight.

Broner was supposed to be defending his WBA title but he over-weighed, which would have resulted in Theophane claiming the belt if he had won. As it stands, the title is vacant!

Speaking at the ringside after he declared winner in a nine-round technical knockout, Broner said, ”I don’t know how you all like it. I didn’t like it. I learn sh*t (sic) from physical activity, so me and Floyd, we got a feud. I’m a man, at the end of the day, and I come from the streets, from the bottom. I come from nothing, and I will never let a man disrespect me. He got to come see me. We got to get it on.”

Broner made this remark in reaction to Mayweather’s comment earlier in the week. The 26-year old called the five-division world champion’s promotion company ‘Hateweather Promotions.  Mayweather responded by alleging that his label ‘About Billions’ stood for ‘Always Broke’ instead.

‘We know he ain’t never seen eight figures or nine figures. He has barely ever seen seven figures. It could be safe to say that one of my cars cost more than he made his whole career.’

Whether this fight will ever see the light of day only time will tell, but the Money man has shrugged off a possibility with his response to Spike announcer Scott Hanson, “I don’t play kid games with Adrien Broner.”
