The Nigerian military and its war against terrorists in the northeastern part of the country is yielding positive results.
Khalid al-Barnawi, the self-acclaimed leader of Ansaru, another terror group in the region was reported to have been captured. According to Ahmad Salkida, a popular journalist who has been reporting on Boko Haram for the past six years: “reports reaching me say, Nigeria’s apex security agency has recorded one of “its greatest feat in the war on terror. The security source said, the DSS arrested Khalid Albarnawi of Ansaru, who is believed to have reconciled with the leader of ISWAP today.”
As described by Rewardsforjustice.com, “Khalid al-Barnawi, also known as Mohammed Usman, was reportedly a high-ranking member of Boko Haram. He has been alleged to be a leader of Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-Sudan”.
If this report is authentic, Nigeria’s military spokesman should be issuing a statement about this high profile capture.
