Eight kid bodies were found in a pit on Monday, at the boundary between Agbalu and Umuokom, in Obibi Community in Etche Local Government area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
According to reports, the corpses were discovered in the morning by women who went to the farm.
However, local residents could not identify them, as the corpses, who were all male kids had their faces placed to the ground.
Ahmad Muhammad, Police Public Relations Officers, PPRO Rivers State and a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP confirmed the incident. He said investigation revealed that the perpetrators came from a neighbouring State, Abia State precisely.
“Information led our men to a burrow pit on the outskirts of the community where eight corpses were discovered. Investigation has been launched with a view to unveiling the scenario and arresting the culprits,” he said.
Rivers State has been a place of carnage in recent times with the just inconclusive elections recording some of the most appalling butcheries in the history of the State.
