Richard Nyong, Lekki Gardens’ Boss, Gets Bail

Lagos state Magistrate Court sitting in Ebute Metta, Lagos, has granted bail to the embattled managing director of Lekki Gardens, Richard Nyong.

Nyong alongside Taiwo Odofin, a contractor to Lekki Gardens, were arraigned by the Lagos state government following the collapse of one of their buildings in Lekki, which led to the death of 34 people on the March 8, 2016. They were mostly construction workers working on the site.

He was granted bail on self-recognition. Chief Magistrate Afolashade Botoku ordered him and the contractor to submit their international passports pending the completion of their trial.
