Jeb Bush, former Florida Governor has publicly given his support to Sen. Ted Cruz for president in the forthcoming U.S. presidential elections.
A formal announcement came on Wednesday after Bush and Cruz aids shared news of the endorsement in advance with The Washington and other media outlets. Bush described Cruz as a consistent, principled conservative who has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests.
He however labeled Donald Trump as contentious and rude.
“For the sake of our party and country, we must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena, or we will certainly lose our chance to defeat the Democratic nominee and reverse President Obama’s failed policies,” Bush said in a statement.
The news comes hours after Cruz was declared the winner of Utah’s Republican primary election.
