
As a fall out of the Lekki Gardens building collapse, the Lagos state government, South West Nigeria, has begun integrity test on all building constructed by Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited, the company behind Lekki Gardens.
The state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode had ordered that all buildings constructed by the company be vacated and tested for faulty possible construction and their livability. The sate government decided to let the occupants stay in their homes while the tests are carried out.
The coring test which has some destructive effects as well as the pundit tests will be carried out to ascertain any possibility of danger that some of the buildings might now or in the nearest future.
According to the General Manager of the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, Rasheed Balogun all defective building will be demolished to forestall future collapse.
Lekki Gardens has come under intense criticisms and scrutiny after one of its buildings collapsed killing 34 people, majorly construction workers at the site.
