#RiversOfViolence: INEC Cancels Elections in Etche and Asari-Toru LGAs

The spate of violence during the conduct of state and national assembly parliamentary elections in Rivers state, South South Nigeria, has taken a turn for the worse as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, canceled elections in held in two more local governments.

Anedi Ikoiwak, the resident electoral officer announced the cancellation due to irregularities, violence, ballot snatching and stuffing. Affected local governments are Etche and Asari-Toru. As at the time of this report, the collation centre has been moved to one of the state police command for security reasons.
