Less than 40 days after a five storey building collapsed in Lekki, a highbrow part of Lagos Island, Nigeria; another building just collapsed in Mile 12, a suburb of Lagos, about 10 minutes drive from Ikeja, the state capital.
The one-storey building collapsed in the early hours of today killing at least one person. The victim was identified as a middle-aged woman, who reportedly died from critical injuries she sustained in the accident.
Lagos has been the centre of collapsed buildings in metropolitan Nigerian cities. The Lekki Gardens five storey building killed about 34 people. Last year, a lodging facility at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun, another suburb of Lagos, killed more than 100 people.
