African Blogger Awards Announces Three New Categories

Three new categories for social and digital influencers across Africa Continent have been announced for entries for the third annual African blogger awards competition.

The award competition which was opened for entries in mid-February has new categories which include Women and Girls’ Empowerment, Public Health, Social Issues and Active Citizenship. A sponsor of the award, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is aimed at raising awareness on social issues affecting the continent.

Awareness of passionate bloggers, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter account holders and Instagram reporters on stories relating to women and girls’ empowerment, public health and social issues will be raised.

Grassroots stories about development and curbing of ill-treatment around the world is what Gates Foundation encourages.

Entries for the awards close 19th April, 2016.
