Konga.com Gets USD10 Million Series A Funding From Kinnevik And Naspers


Konga.com, an emerging eCommerce company competing head on with Jumia.com has just raised series A funding of about USD10 million investment from Swedish Kinnevik AB and South Africa’s Naspers.

Konga will be using the funds to further its growth and develop new products for the site.

Konga was founded by Sim Shagaya in 2012, started out as an eCommerce site focused in selling kids and baby products.

While Konga is getting the backing of Kinnevik and Naspers, Jumia is owned by Rocket Internet, a German based eCommerce group with focus on creating eCommerce clones of big brands across the world and building them with marketing and digital media technologies.
