Baker Hughes, GE COO Belgacem Chariag set to leave

Baker Hughes, a GE company has announced that its global chief operations officer, Belgacem Chariag, will leave the company this January 2018. He will stay with the US oil service giant through January 31 to provide “transition assistance”.

Prior to his current role, Mr Belgacem Chariag served as president of global operations for Baker Hughes.

He also had a stint as vice president and chief integration officer for Baker Hughes.

He served as president of the company’s eastern hemisphere operations from 2009 until 2013.

Before joining Baker Hughes, Mr Chariag was vice president for health, safety, environment and security for Schlumberger from January 2008 until January 2009.
