French authorities investigate  Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus on Kazahk dealings

French anti-corruption investigators are investigating Tom Enders, chief executive of Airbus according to a report by Reuters News.

According to the few details available, Tom Enders and three other company executives as witnesses in an investigation centred on the sale of satellites to Kazakhstan in 2010.

Dr. Thomas Enders, also known as Tom, has been the Chief Executive Officer at Airbus SE since June 1, 2012. Dr. Enders has been an Executive Director of Airbus SE since 2012. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus S.A.S. and AirbusGroup Limited.

He served as the Chief Executive Officer of EADS CASA S.A. since May 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Defence and Space SA since May 2012. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus from June 1, 2012 to January 1, 2013 and served as its Head of Europe’s Aerospace and Defence Group since January 2012. Dr. Enders served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Airbus S.A.S. from August 2007 to June 4, 2012.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Airbus Commercial Aircraft Division since 2007. He served as Head of Armaments Division for European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. and Airbus. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus SE from May 11, 2005 to July 2007. Following the creation of EADS in 2000, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the EADS Defence and Security Systems Division. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Group Inc. since June 2005 and Co-Chief Executive Officer since June 2006 until 2007.

He served as Head of Defence Division at Airbus SE from 2000 to 2005. He served as Head of Security Systems Division and a Head of Civil Systems Division of Airbus. He served for more than 3 years as Senior Vice President (Director) for Corporate Strategy and Technology of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG (DASA).

He served as Director of Airbus Group Inc. From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of the Business Advisory Group of then U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron. He is patron of the German Mayday Foundation. He was the President of the German Aerospace Industries Association BDLI from April 2005 to 2012. He has been Member of the BDI Presidential Board (German Industry Association) since 2009. In 2014, he joined the Advisory Council of the Munich Security Conference as well as the Senate of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. He is a Member of the International Advisory Board of Atlantic Council of the US.

He holds a Private Pilot’s License (PPL) for helicopters. In 1987, he was awarded his Doctorate in Politics from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and studied Economics, Political Science and History at University of Bonn and at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1978 to 1983.
