Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc has appointed Chinweugo Nwafor as its Head, Internal Audit with effect from November 6, 2017.
The company said in a statement that Chinweugo Nwafo will be rplacing Chinazor Ibe as the Internal Auditor of the Company.
Chinweugo Nwafor is an astute audit professional with close to a decade of experience in Controls, Risk and Asset Management. She holds a degree in Accounting from University of Nigeria. She is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
She began her career in Ecobank and has also worked extensively with KPMG Professional Services and ARM Investment Managers. Chinweugo was the Head of the Internal Audit and Control Units of ARM Life Plc, a subsidiary company of the ARM Holding Company. Prior to her new position, she was the Team Lead of the Internal Audit Unit overseeing the Traditional Asset Management businesses and specialized funds.
Chinweugo Nwafor is a Chartered Accountant and currently on the pursuit of becoming a Certified Internal Auditor. She is a trained GRC consultant and has over 9 years of varied experience in matters relating to Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance, Accounting Advisory and Corporate Governance. She has been certified by the Institute for International Research (IIR) in conjunction with the George Washington University School of Business (GW) on Corporate Governance Best Practices and has also been certified in G3 and G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines by the Environmental & Sustainability Solutions CC (ESS) based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Chinweugo possesses hands-on experience in Internal Audit reviews and reporting, Board Appraisal services, Contract Compliance services, reconciliation and investigations, facilitation of risk assessments workshops, Internal Audit Outsourcing and Co-sourcing projects and Accounting Advisory services as she currently oversees the internal audit function including the control and compliance activities of her Company.
As an experienced manager with extensive Governance, Risk, Control & Compliance (GRC) knowledge and skills in financial, compliance, and operational areas within the financial services industry; Chinweugo is energetic, ever willing to learn and take on responsibilities. She displays the ability to tailor new and existing skills and technologies to increase efficiency in her responsibilities whilst partnering with Business Managers across varying Business Units to attain set objectives.
