Court fails to deliver Judgment on NGN300 million suit filed by kidnapper Evans

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has failed to deliver judgment in the NGN300m Fundamental Rights Enforcement Suit filed by a suspected kidnapper, Evans whose real name is Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, against the Nigerian Police Force.

The presiding judge, Justice Abdulaziz Anka has adjourned the case till September 5, 2017 following claim by the police that the Inspector General of Police and the Nigerian Police Force had not been party to the proceedings and the court could not go ahead with judgment without hearing from both parties.

The judge said the counsels would argue, on the adjourned date, why he should not deliver his judgment.

Evans had filed a motion, claiming the sum of NGN300 million as general and exemplary damages against the Police for alleged illegal detention and unconstitutional media trial.
