Afrimalin, the fastest growing classified site in Francophone West Africa has just launched its mobile application on Android and iOS.
A press statement issued to PageOne.ng, Eric Koudouss Moudachirou, Managing Director of Afrimalin Côte d’Ivoire who also led the mobile app, he said the app is “optimized to consume less data. Our teams have tailored it to suit our users and to adapt to the African realities of internet access, e-commerce and consumption”
The company disclosed that the app now accounts for 60% of its mobile traffic.
“We built on the experience of the last 7 months to improve our platform. Among the changes and improvements, it is now possible to create an account from a phone number, without email. We adapt to Internet users and realities, with local specificities, and we evolve with them”, he added.
Afrimalin already has over 170,000 monthly users on its platform where they can buy and sell real estate, jobs, cars, phones, computers, fashion, furniture, books, agricultural products and more.
Customers of Afrimalin will have access to the following features via the app:
– faster and simpler publication of announcements
– adding photos directly from the mobile phone
– location of the best ads close to home
– direct contact with the buyer by a call, SMS message or Whatsapp
– registration of the sellers’ contact details
– optimized data consumption
– the receipt of the latest ads and offers by push notifications
The startup bolstered its viability when it raised EUR400,000 in its first round from group of investors who understand the market.
Afrimalin has it work cut out for it. The company disclosed that by “June a new version of the site integrating new services, and will open several new countries in French-speaking Africa”.
